I bought an Acer laptop (cash) end of November 2012 from Game Pavillion. Last week the display started to 'dazzle' so I took it in today as the product is under a year old is obviously a hardware problem. I was then advised that since I don't have my original proof of purchase (I moved house 3 months ago, and all my goods are in storage) the laptop will be sent in for repairs but I will have to pay for the cost thereof. According to kenneth, even if they managed to get a copy of my proof of purchase, their supplier will still not honour the warranty as their requirment is an original proof of purchase!
So, essentially, as I don't have my original till slip, my warranty is invalid!
The only aspect I was informed of was that if I tamper with the laptop, then my warranty is void but they make absolutely no mention that without my till slip, then the warranty I do have means absolutely nothing!
I wonder if acer knows how much disrepute games stores brings to their product because I surely will never buy andother acer product let alone support another game store for their don't care attitude towards the service we pay pay for!
Let's see how quickly this issue is resolved or not!
