I would like to report the poor quality of the GHD 0.5" styler. I purchased my 1st styler in 2010. One of the plates stopped heating completely within a year. I called GHD and they basically replaced it with a "brand new" styler. I had the same problem again within a year. I called GHD again and they replaced it again with a "brand new styler". This styler now has the same problem - only 1 plate heats up - this happened within 7 months.
I called GHD today and they will not replace this styler because my 1st styler was purchased in 2010 and any new styler that is given to you holds the warranty period from the very 1st styler purchased. This goes to show that they expect their stylers to only last a year - this is evident from me having the same issue with 3 stylers that did not last more than a year. I'm disappointed in the poor quality of the GHD product. I will no longer purchase GHD products and will move to a new reliable brand.
