For the past 3 years, I have been bombarded with SMS's from the SABC TV license department, asking me to pay an outstanding TV License amount, yet I own no TV and have never applied for a TV License.
In 2011, I phoned their call centre (in response to an sms), quoted the refence number on the SMS and told the call-centre person (who's name I dont have) that I do not own a TV. I was told that I should go to the Police Station and write an Affidavit - which I did - and faxed it back to them, but no one responded. There was silence for some months and I took it that they must have deleted the incidence. Again last year, this happened, I was aksed to once AGAIN go to the police station and write an affidavit and I did!
It's now 2013 and they have handed my account over to some 3rd party agency (SSD & Associates) that is meant to make me pay. I called this 3rd party agency and they too asked me to go to teh police station and write YET ANOTHER Affidavit to state that I do not own a TV and theerfore have never even opened a TV License account!
I am fed up and I need someone to take my case seriously and actually resolve the matter! It is causing me great frustration.
