Within the 1st year of having a tv license when the advice arrived on the next years renewal I had sold the tv contacted the SABC had the license cancelled. a year passed and they sent a new renewal form along with demanding arrears payment. contacted the SABC again was informed by them THEY had made a MISTAKE and NOT CANCELLED the license, that I need go to the commissioner of oaths and have an affidavit drawn up with him and then stamped, signed forwarded back to the SABC with new owners tv license details etc, a procedure that is also lined out like this on a GOVERNMENT WEBSITE.
I am to this day still being harassed to pay a license that was cancelled as per all their procedures as well as being LEGALLY CANCELLED ACCORDING TO A GOVERNMENT WEBSITE!!! and yet the harassment continues now with some collections agency trying to use 'scare tactics' into forcing me to pay for something which I am NOT LIABLE for. What does someone need to do to stop these people its blatant corruption in action! I have now had to resort to forwarding this to company lawyers as this now seems to be my only way of reaching the correct outcome, AS NOW THE SABC BLATANTLY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR ERROR
