SA POST OFFICE - AWFUL Customer service

I Recently purchased an item online ref ii278253277za under the value of R500. i call to enquire as to why i have been charged R284.54 customs on a item that only totalled to R436.

1. No one seems to understand how exactly the customs are calculated
the answer i received was 10% handling fee and 14% vat

436*10% handling fee - R43.60
436*14% vat - R61.40

Total: R 105

When i ask how come R284 was charged, the staff member online doesn't know.

2. i ask her to then Email me a breakdown so that i can understand why it is so much, to which she replies she cannot email that information.

3. i ask her to put me through to someone who can assist, to which she replies she doesn't know

4. Ask for her manager, she hangs up!!!

Seriously this is pathetic service. Especially since had she given me a simple explaination as to why it was so much, i would have gladly just paid the 284 and collected my parcel
