I got an email notice that stated that my live service has expired and I can renew it for a yearly fee of R596.43, when you click the link it opens the TomTom home application and allows you to purchase, but on the program, the price is over R740. There was a second option to buy a 3 year subscription for R1595, I thought it may work out better in the long run, I selected the option for the 3 year, entered my credit card details, confirmed the amount for R1595 and processed the order. I then got an SMS stating that R2023.56 has left my account for [URL Removed] THAT IS!!! I clearly accepted the ZAR figure, they have no right to charge more to my account. I am firstly disgusted that they took more and secondly, it is false advertising with the other email.
I contacted TomTom online and they said the base price is in Euros, which I understand, but then their program needs to give me the correct amount before I process payment. I then spoke to a rude telephone consultant who said they will refund me after 7 days, but that doesn't help the fact that I was ripped off and if I didn't check, I would've lost out.
BE WARNED IF YOU PROCESS ANY CREDIT CARD INFO ON TOMTOM.
