SA Post Office
Deceptive Track and Trace

I am having a small parcel shipped from the Woodstock Post Office in Cape Town to the Silverton Post Office in Pretoria. The item was received by the Woodstock office on Tuesday afternoon (28/05) from the shipper in Cape Town.

The Track and Trace records showed that the Main Tshwane Sorting centre received the parcel at 07:14 on the 31st of May, 3 days later. So I visited my Silverton branch in the late afternoon in the hopes that they had received it with out scanning it. They hadn't, but I was told to come the next day, a Saturday the 1st of June (which is when I am writing this).

I checked the parcel status before I left, only to discover that all the records have been changed. It showed that the parcel was only received by Woodstock a day later, on the 29th, and that Tswhane only received the parcel this morning at 01:14. Silverton did not have my parcel. And I was told thats it was not guaranteed that they would have it on Monday either, though I was welcome to come check.

It seems like someone is trying to cover their slow delivery by changing the records.
SAPO will continue to shrink in this day of technology, so reliable parcel delivery is their only hope.
