So its nearing December. I've been working hard the entire year. I decide its time to purchase a new vehicle. I apply for vehicle financing and OH! Sorry you are blacklisted. Very upset I start investigating the matter to find that the company responsible for this listing me is MBD and for an amount of R1900.
So I contacted the company and was forwarded to their debt collection department. I gave them my ID number. The operator informed me that Virgin Active handed me over to MBD on 30 Nov 2012. But she told me that Virgin Active was responsible for listing me and I owed R1600. (Inconsistency No. 1)
Now I went to my branch of Virgin Active (Been gyming there for over a year) and they told me that my account is up to date. The debt MBD was trying to collect on was an account from 2008 for an amount of R916. This amount I paid to Virgin Active on 19 Nov 2012. Virgin Active would not allow me to rejoin before I paid the outstanding account. I am an active member of Virgin Active??? (Inconsistency No. 2)
Phoned MBD again and explained all of this. The operator told me that their system does not reflect this and according to them I owe the money FOR A DEBT FROM 2008 (prescription!)
