My husband and I found Saunderson Attorney's at the wedding expo and decided to use them for our Ante-Nuptial contract. Our wedding was 21 September 2013 and we approached them for the ANC well in advance. In fact it was in May of this year (2013). When setting up the appointment and taking our money Melissa was so helpful and efficient. However, this came swiftly to and end in the following months.
Subsequent to this, two months later, we bought a piece of land and our bond attorneys asked for our pre-nup agreement. I phoned Melissa to ask her for it and what ensued was the most unprofessional behaviour and dodging I have ever come across. We discovered that our ANC had not been registered at the deeds office and that because the three month period had passed it had in fact become null and void.
The most scary thing about this is that we never would have found out unless our bond attorneys had requested the document. We would have been married thinking we had a registered pre-nup. Changing to this status after you are married can apparently cost thousands of rands in court. We will be reporting them to the SA Bar Association among other things. They do not deserve to practice
