My wife recently started a new job and they are requesting she goes over on her own policy as they will be paying a specific amount towards the medical aid then. I phoned the call centre and spoke to a lady there, I had a couple of questions and she confirmed the following: 1. That it is possible for my wife to be removed from my policy and go onto a new policy on her own name, she will also be able to go onto a different plan. 2. There will be no waiting period.
She put me on hold on two occasions to "confirm" all this information what she did.

Today I dealt with someone else - after filling in and sending all the forms and 3 month bank statement again the lady came back and said sorry, she cant go onto another plan. She must stay on the old plan. I was very confused and when I asked about the information provided to me last week I was informed that this lady is new and not actually working with memberships. What a shocking display of incompetence! I will be cancelling my policy and go somewhere else.
