A few weeks ago my mum was in St. Augustine's Neuro ward for a decompression & fusion. Every time I visited her, she complained endlessly about the nurses & how they don't care. The doctors give them instructions and they don't follow through. She complained on some assessment that someone from the hospital did & thereafter, she was treated worse.
On Thursday my girlfriend had the fusion op & was placed in the same room my mum was in. She's been complaining to me ever since she was moved to Neuro ward. On Friday, her doctor told the nurses to give her an anti-inflammatory. Up to today she has not been given the anti-inflammatory & yet, a nurse signed her chart saying it was given. Who knows, maybe she sold the drugs to the whoonga smokers. On Saturday morning, the doctor told the nurses to nebulize the patient. Around 20:00 in the evening they asked her if she still wanted the nebulizer! Up until she asked on Saturday night, not one nurse had checked her wound. That was the first & the last time too. Last night she had to ask three times before she was given the nebulizer.
St. Augustine's has always been a great hospital. Not anymore though. Rather go to the Life hospitals.
