Incorrect Information

A while back I went to Old Mutual in Parow Centre regarding my Group Scheme where I was paying R110.00 per month which had lapsed. I was told that it could not be re-instated and I did inform the guy there but I was getting smses telling me I can. I was then referred to another lady who put me in touch with Nolan Jackson who I did take a new policy out with and am happy with the way he handled everything.
When i went into an Old Mutual branch in Belville the lady there told me that my old policy where I was paying R110.00 per month can be re-instated all I hhad to do was pay an outstanding amount of 2 premiums which was R220.00.She also informed me if i did want to close that policy I would only get out about R96.00.Why is it know that I have to suffer a lost of over R120.00 cause someone had provided incorrect information to me and I would not have opened a new policy if i had the chance to re-instate the old one.

I am know contemplating going to the Insurance Ombudsman regarding this cause know I suffer a financial loss because some at Old Mutual did not do their job correctly
