In Sept 2013, I went to hospital. I had downgraded my med aid plan, which meant I owed them money for the med savings account. I had made an arrangement with Discovery, stating that a certain amount will be taken each month, until this amount was paid back. I was absolutely FINE with that. Lancet phones me, telling me that I owe them money for my blood tests. I take it up with Discovery and they state they paid me so that I could pay Lancet. I phone them again, proving this was not true. They tell me that they took the money that was paid from my Hospital benefit (that I was supposed to pay to Lancet) and used it to pay off my debt with Discovery. So how does that work? I had an agreement to pay off the debt, and now Discovery takes money that is owed to Lancet, to pay off the med savings account. Now Lancet is hounding me for the money I don't have, that was supposed to come from my HOSPITAL BENEFIT!!! I am absolutely fed up! They just tell me "sorry, you owe them money now". This is utter nonsense! I deal with Discovery in a professional and personal capacity and I am utterly disgusted. Not again.
