My farther (84) went to the emergency unit yesterday after with a problem with bleedig from behind. After completing the forms the very very long wait started. After more than 1 hour a sister did his vitals and the wait continued. After more than 1 hour 30 min i went to the receptionist and advised her if she didn;t want to clean up a mess i suggest that they move him out of reception. she suggested that I speak to the medical staff at the back. NO one to assist as they were standing chatting to each other. Eventually they moved him to a bed in the emergency unit. Lying there for about 30min 2 of the Netcare Ambulance staff came to attend to him. Still NO sign of any dr. They went and found the dr and advised her that it was rather serious. She then checked him and advised that he must be admitted tothe ICU or highcare due to his age and the seriousness of the bleeding. After completing the admission form we left. My mother called this morning only to be told that he was never admitted. After about 30 min the sister from ICU called her and told her that he was OK. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! State hosp offer BETTER service than montana.
