Our Son was injured during a Rugby Match yesterday at about 1pm and was transferred to Sunninghill Casualty via Emergmed. From Roxanne (Emergmed), the Staff and Doctor in the Casualty Department were superb a very Big Thankyou!!!
However my gripe is with the Radiology Department. We waited for 35 minutes for someone to take him and eventually a Casualty Staff Member took him.By this time it was quarter to 2. The Receptionist told us about the After Hour fee after 1 pm was R500. As my son was an Emergency we had to pay!!! I think as a Emergency Hospital on a Saturday afternoon to pay this is absolutely a rip off. Saturday nights and Sundays I can understand but 3/4 of an hour after cut off time is disgusting!!! After the CT Scan, we still had to wait another hour for a report sent to the Casualty Doctor. Only after my Husband complained that even paying the after hour fee we were subjected to this painful wait of not knowing how injured our 13 year old son was!!! Fortunately it was a good outcome and cannot commend your Staff enough BUT this Xray Department is another matter and should look into amending of what Emergency After hours should be!!!
