Unfair treatment

I booked into Fourways Guest House to stay from 12 February to 31 March 2013. During the e-mail discussions with Mrs Jean Wade I asked if there was security at her Guest House but did not receive any reply in writing. Upon calling her I was told security was fine and they had had no problems, I was moving from Cape Town and to stay there alone as my husband is working in Namibia. I then paid a 50% deposit of R11633.00 to Mrs Wade.
Arriving at the Guest house (Mrs Wade not being there at the time) we, my husband, sister and I were horrified to find that there was NO security at all. No gates on the doors or burglar bars on the windows, never mind external security. When Mrs Wade arrived back she was advised my us that there was no way I could stay there alone and request all or part of my deposit back. She was quite aggressive and said she would if she could let it again. Owing to the fact I was so stressed at that point and now had to find somewhere else, I agreed and said I would keep in touch to get my money. Nothing happened, we contacted Caroline Ungerstock, President NAA -SA for assistance. Nothing has happened after 6 weeks. Is it too much to ask for some of my money back.
