The service or NO service at Swartland hospital is an atrocity to say the least. I was very sick in December last year and had no other choice than to go to Swartland Hospital as I am unemployed and cannot afford medical aid. When I got to the hospital I could not walk. My husband got a wheel chair for me. We were told we have to wait. While I sat there I felt like I was dying. I told my husband so he called my sister to come quickly. My sister had to make a scene before any of the staff would help me. I was then seen by a doctor who stabalised me and who sent me to Paarl provincial hospital as she didn't know what was wrong with me.
The hospital looks nice from the outside but the people who work there treat you like a dog!!
I was reading all the comments to a post on the Malmesbury news facebook page, it was heart breaking. The people that go there for help have to wait hours and some of them have waited 2 days to be assisted. There are people that are so badly injured who are told to wait.
This type of treatment is inhumane.
Please do yourself a favour and go read the comments on Malmesbury news Facebook page. I intend reporting them to whomever will investigate the people working there.
