We recently had the misfortune of purchasing doors & windows from Swartland, a company that cannot keep its promises. Orders were on average 12 days late, resulting in the project being two weeks over schedule, incurring significant extra standing costs. These matters were raised with Jackie Hartley who promised to discuss compensation with their Sales and Marketing Director, Mark Fuller, & revert. After numerous unreturned emails, two weeks later their response indicated that they have procedures & that we had no recourse. At no stage did we ever see their procedures & naively relied on their delivery commitments which were not met.
We then requested retrofitting of stainless steel hinges and latches & were told that a technical person would call us back. After a number of reminders over several weeks, someone came to site & we have never heard another word.
We previously used Swartland & the experience was so unpleasant that we swore that we would never use them again. Against our better judgement, we used them again & they lived up to our perception.
If you're considering purchasing wooden doors or windows, please think twice about buying from Swartland.
