Today, 27 December 2021 my sister informed me that she took my mom to the Clanwilliam Hospital as my mom fell sick over christmas and was not well. On arrival there my sister told me that one of the nurses was rude and shouted at my mom for her details and so my sister told her that my mom's not deaf and that she can speak in a proper manner to her. I phoned the Clanwilliam Hospital at 11:17 am and the person who answered the phone only said "yes" when she answered the phone and I had to ask her if this is the Clanwilliam Hospital. I asked her if she can perhaps help me, because I wanted to know if my mother (I provided my mom's details to her) was admitted at the hospital and she struggled pronouncing my mom's surname and then told me " yes there's a child admitted with that surname" I then asked her if she can get an Afrikaans speaking nurse to assist me. She said nothing and kept me waiting on the phone for a few seconds. I could hear someone repeatedly saying afrikaans, afrikaans and giggling while coming to the phone. When this nurse finally got to the phone, she was laughing loudly in my ear, so I asked her if she can tell me what was so funny. She then started shouting at me without even introducing herself or without asking how she can assist me. When I finally got a word in and told her that she is very rude and have no manners, she put the phone down in my ear. I am very dissappointed about this incident and feel her attitude was uncalled for. She, nor anyone else at that hospital or any other hospital is doing me or my family a favour. When I spoke to my sister afterwards, she informed me that the same nurse is very rude to everyone in the hospital and that she needs to be reported. She acted like the hospital belongs to her. I would like for anyone who's incharge to take disciplinary action against her to prevent such a re-occurence.
