Bad customer service

I registered on Topmed's maternity benefit which was explained to me in broad terms on what is covered. Inter alia was antenatal classes for which I submitted the proof of payment at the beginning of December 2013 already. Beginning of January 2014 I submitted the proof of payment for the total amount again and followed up with an e-mail query two weeks later again. When I finally called the call centre to ask what the situation was I was advised that due to a missing practice number the claim has been declined. Upon asking why no one has advised me of the missing information I was told that it is the member's responsibility to follow up on claims. So three follow ups and two months later I'm the one to blame?? How do I know to submit outstanding information if no one informs me at least in writting, where do I send it to. My issue is not even with the declined claim but with the total bad service of not responding to queries and then made out to be the wrong one when querying again. There are medical aids out in the market that offer better benefits for more or less the same premium, why should I have to put up with this. I will tell other people about the terrible service.
