At the end of January my son was admitted to Parklands hospital the paediatrician who was looking after him sent him for a CAT scan on his head. the account has since been submitted to Medshield for payment and was immediately declined for payment. when i queried the reasons i was advised they need a referral note and pathology before the claim will be paid i contacted the X-ray people who sent me what they have and advised Medshield they have processed the claim for the blood work so they should have whatever pathology information they need already. after numerous calls to follow up and being told they are working on the claim after a month I was told they need a referral which i sent beginning of March. this morning i receive a mail they are still looking for the documents already sent and that the query for the claim has been closed. how can the issue be closed the claim has not been paid and how can the documents which have been received just disapeared all of a sudden? not very professional from Medshield i am very disapointed.
