I have to go for a knee replacement. My operation is scheduled for Monday the 27th of January. I saw the surgeon on the 13th where everything was finalized. They requested an authorization from my medical aid for the op.By Thursday neither the doctor nor myself have heard anything from the medical aid. Friday morning the 24th at 10 o'clock the medical aid phones me and asks me hundreds of questions which I fully understand as this a big op. But why wait so long??? I had to book my bed on Friday at the hospital. How can I book my bed if I don't even know if the Medical Aid will pay for this op??? It cannot take this long to give authorization. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am stressed enough about the big operation and now you add to the stress with your slack service.
