We booked accommodation Drakensberg at Ambleside Cottage after reviewing all details on Where To Stay website. We were severely let down - the website boasted washing machine, TV with full DSTV package, serviced daily to mention but a few items of the "luxury self-catering accommodation" we had booked.
On arrival we were informed by the service lady that there was a leak in the living -area which she had reported to the owners apparently a year ago. On walking into the cottage the damp musty smell hit you. On our first night it was literally raining inside and out and we had to empty our cooler boxes and find blankets to place under the leaking roof in the main living area. This left a permanently wet fitted carpet in the main living area, revolting smell and mould on the ceilings. The kids (toddlers and a crawler) couldn't play and were constantly getting wet. The youngest got sick from the mould and most of us suffered from the damp and mould with sinuses. The washing machine didn't work, the TV didn't work, the pressure pump didn't work so the water (e.g. shower) was a pathetic dribble, AND on contacting the owner his attitude was appalling, he couldn't help us!
