A year and a half ago I purchased a Samsung top loader washing machine. I have religiously cleaned it and aired it (being a Microbiologist, I understand the conditions required for a mould infestation and therefore took measures to prevent this).
However, upon trying to wash a load of clothes this weekend, I found huge chucks of mould in the water. I cleaned and cleaned to no avail. Then I opened the back panel of the machine only to find a massive mould infestation between the outer and inner drums, where I cannot access to clean it.
I phoned Samsung and they have referred me to a service centre whom I no doubt have to pay an incredible amount to fix this.
I have 2 questions:
1) What kind of rubbish machine, after regular cleaning and airing STILL gets infested with mould? and
2) How often am I going to have to get the service centre to clean this thing in future, even if I maintain it the way I should?
