Last week I contacted Deland's Little Farm who I found on the Where To Stay website [URL Removed] and spoke to the owner, Deland Doris. I asked her if she had availabiltiy for 2 adults and 1 child on 26 January 2013 in her farm cottage as it was my husband's birthday and I wanted to treat him to a weeked away. She confirmed that she did in fact have availability for that particular night and took my booking down. She said she would e-mail the confirmation to me later that afternoon. Later that day I received an e-mail from her (not even a phone call) stating that she had double booked the cottage for that specific night and because the people who also phoned that morning had already paid we now lose the booking. I was absolutely livid by this and explained to her that she had confirmed the booking with me over the phone and I had already told my husband about his birthday weekend away. She replied and said we could easily find accommodation elsewhere in Oudtshoorn which I thought was a cheek because I am well aware that we could have found accommodation elsewhere... the point is we wanted the secluded farm cottage which she offers. We will never ever stay at Deland's!!
