I went to go get an HIV test yesterday after even though being responsible with protection this holiday, I still wanted to do the responsible and get tested. (As most people would rather not know and continue to fool around)
The nurse that took my blood had to be the most terrible person helping me. As I was already highly nervous. She proceeded to tell me how "I am playing with fire and I must suffer" ARE YOU JOKING!
I genuinely was in a complete state of depression after the test, fortunately my results where negative. If however they went the other way I wouldn't be able to describe the sheer negative emotion in my head catalyzed by her thoughtless comments.
In the country we live in with the negative stigma surrounding AIDS and getting tested, people should never be brought down or made to feel like a horrible person for getting tested.
