I have recently had my Vitality Health check at a local Clicks and the device the nurse used incorrectly calculated my blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol- to such an extent that it indicated high risk levels on all three, and of course not eligible for any Vitality points.
I got a big scare and asked the nurse if this could in any way be wrong- she claimed that her device was working perfectly. Out of worry, I visited my doctor that evening and all checked out fine and well within the healthy bands.
When I returned to the Clicks nurse the following day, my readings were again normal.
So, my gripe is why I, as I am only covered for by a hospital plan, had to pay for having these tests re-done by a professional when the Clicks equipment is faulty? I had a serious health scare, had to travel back and forth and then get stuck with a doctors bill.
Discovery should insist that these tests are handled in a more professional manner. I understand that it is a 'screening test', but it is horrible to be incorrectly diagnosed by a nurse that blindly trusts her over used machine!
