PROPERTY BY HOTEL STAFF

On the 24th of December 2013, my husband and I booked into the Peermont Mondior in Gaborone - Room 101. We had travelled from Joburg. We checked out on the 27th of December.

On arriving home - in the evening, we realised we had left a pair of my sandals and my husband's Adidas sandals at the hotel.
We immediately called the hotel to find out if they had found them.
The receptionist said she had no access to lost and found property and she would check with hotel cleaning staff in the morning.

At 9:30am we callled the hotel to follow up. The receptionist said she would call back with feedback. She then called back after 10am to say the cleaning staff had found nothing in the room.

After what we had considered to be a decent hotel stay we are so disappointed. This is no different from and the hotel must instil a better lost and found policy. It is obvious that their staff help themselves to customer belongings accidently left in the rooms.

We had planned to go back to the same hotel for our next visit but after this we certainly will not.
Very disappointed!!!
