I came to usa on holiday. My husband needed emergency treatment for acute pancreatus. He was fit to travel and did not have this problem in the last 6 months. On communicating with bonitas I was given a reference number and assurance to concentrate on making sure my husband gets well and not worry about the billing. We were due to leave to miami but was told he cannot fly or travel. I lost my accom down there, and in new york was due to book out. Not knowing were I stand I kept asking bonitas about alternate accom and cover, I was assured they working on the matter and I must not worry, now I was informed that they do not cover accom, yet that was myt frequent questions. And now they say this was va pre existing condition and therefore no cover. After 3 days of a wild goose chase with them I am now stranded with no alternate accom and a medical bill that I have to pay, becos of incorrect information they are using to decline. Ib am changing my medical aid and is taking this matter further when I return to south africa.
