PREMIUM INCREASE

I had applied for Medical Cover for both my parents via a Broker & was successful in November 2012. The premiums commenced on the 01/12/2012 for R1696-00 being the first premium. Then i received a letter advising that the premiums were going to increase from the 01/01/2013. On the 01/01/2013 the premium of R2232-00 was debited off my bank account as i am the premium payer for my parents. I find this increase unacceptable & unjustifiable due to the fact that my parents did provide the relevant proof of pension ect at the time of the application. They have not even used their medical aid due to their waiting period. Had we been advised of this HUGE increase initially then i would have considered other companies as well. My parents get minimal form of income via their pension therefor i assist with their other needs wherevr i can so that they are able to utilise their pension wisely.

I would like Dicovery Health to please reassess this increase & either readjust accordingly or i will have to revert to other medical companies who are able to cater for pensioners.
