I am a bit disappointed and definitely irritated at the contrasting information that I have been given in a space of four weeks. As a result my family and I are currently sitting without medical aid and had to reapply for possible membership, depending on Discovery for December 2013. In this day and age this nerve-wrecking, particularly since I asked you, my service provider for assistance and compassion regarding my situation.

When I spoke to Gareth this morning he informed me of other things that were happening on my account that I was not aware of. On the 14th October 2013 I spoke to KB regarding my financial situation and was enquiring about the possibility to settle my 'old' Discovery option and enter into a new agreement on a lower option that I had applied for on the 9th September 2013 - Essential Saver. He quoted me an exorbitant amount should I want to cancel. I now know that what I was actually wanting was the Clau-back amount. Gareth advised me that I should have been given the option of paying R4170 which would have allowed me to 'opt-out' of my Discovery Health Option at that point in time and move down to the Essential Saver which is more affordable.
