I have been told by discovery that I have exhuasted my benefits for the year. I am a principal member and I have an adult dependent. I pay premiums amounting to R30 540 per annum to discovery.
My dependant has only had two consultations with the GP, and went to an Optimetrist. I have only been to an dentist to clean my teeeth when I was told by the Optimetrist that discovery will only only pay R 715 towards the spectacles as my funds have been exhausted
I took the option Iam in after having consulted a discovery consultant who made me complete a fitness/health assessment and he advised that I take this option.
My understanding is that medical aids cover two oral hygience visit per annum but now i am told i have finished my benefits.
When I calculate, an amount of R4559.70 has been claimed during the year in total. So this means Essential Saver option only covers 2GP visits, 1 oral hygiene, 1.35 optimetrist visits to cover two people per annum.
i need an explanation, why a fitness test was performed and advised to take an option that will not help me . i also demand that i get a breakdown of the allocations that I am entitled to per year.
