Incompetant consultants on helpline

In Feb this year my wife called to get a pre-authorisation for my daughters tonsils and adenoids operation. She was told that there was a co-payment of R1950.She wanted know to why this is so. The consultant told her the classic priority was the worst option to be on because of co-payments. We asked what was the next option down that has no co-payments. We were told classic saver, but there was no mention of us losing the ATB. To avoid a similar situation in future, I requested to be downgraded to classic saver. This was done without anyone explaining to me the consequences thereof. Yesterday I called discovery to find out my SPG, I was told that this does not apply to the option I am on. I have 2 small children I would have not made such a choice, if I had been informed of the consequences of the down grade. I have taken it up with the company as it is their medical aid. I was told that the consultant should have advised me accordingly. In view of this I insist I be returned to my previous plan. I will pay any shortfall that may have been accumulated. I sincerely hope that this will be resolved without any further action from myself. I have been with discovery for over 10 years.
