Hey I am a member of GEMS and recently I have received an sms saying that my benefits have been suspended due to an outstanding amount of R696 then I called the medical scheme the lady I spoke to wasn't very helpful at all. Yesterday I have received an sms from the pathologists that I owe them R 548.70 because my medical aid declined payment. What I would like to know is why do I don't get my monthly statements as it has been like in the past n why wasn't I made aware of this outstanding amounts until my funds are all been exhausted until January 2014. I have not been to a dentist nor a gynecologist neither done an operation but I was told that when I go to the doctor I must pay cash. I sent the medical scheme an email requesting answers to this question still today I am still waiting for their respond, I also requested for my monthly statements but I am getting none.
