I have a complaint with the medical aid called GEMS. I was a member there and I decided to cancel the medical aid reason being the fact that I was not enjoying the benefits because I would be told that the scheme I had chosen does not pay for certain medications.
I faxed a letter of cancellation on the 16th of January 2012 but I received a statement stating that I am still a member. I faxed a second letter and it still came back stating that I am an active member. On the 25th of October 2012 I again faxed a letter for the 3rd time stating that I wish to be removed as their member as I no longer wished to be the member.
I am now frustrated because they have been threatening me with their lawyers. GEMS continues to deduct money from my account and it leaves a dent in my account number because when I asked for a statement I saw that they tried to deduct money from my account and there was insufficient funds.
Please sort this matter out for me as I am old and frustrated with what they are doing to me. I think they are sending me early to the grave because of what they are doing to me. Please cease to charge my account as I have tried many times to cancel the medical aid.
