Son was in hospital, doctor did not request a specific test but lab went ahead and carried it out. Medical aid refuse to pay as this was not reflected on the pathology note and the lab's excuse is that " member is liable if medical aid rejects account". If requested medical aid will pay this!
Why did the lab not consult the ward or doctor to request a pathology note for test carried out, why should i be responsible for the lab's incompetence.
How many other people out there are getting billed for tests that were not requested?
This is unacceptable and against my consumer rights!
