My daughter and I were going for an early morning walk on the promenade in Umhlanga and decided we would have breakfast afterwards. We enquired at the Oyster Box restaurant reception how much breakfast would cost.
We were told R250 for two or R175 for one. We assumed this was for the number of people and there was a special discount for a couple.. We though R250 for 2 was a fair price for the buffet breakfast. We really enjoyed the full breakfast and the service from Tarin was exceptional. We got a bit of a shock when the bill for R500 arrived. The R250 for 2 referred to the two sides of the buffet, cold and hot. R175 was for one side hot or cold.
We felt a bit stupid but really did have a lovely breakfast so were not too upset. Just be aware that you fully understand when you make enquiries like this.
