For Mother's Day, we decided to treat our mother to a buffet breakfast at the Fire and Ice hotel in Melrose Arch. We arrived and all was well until it came to getting our first course. The queues were ridiculous, and by 10 o clock most of the food had run out. There wasn't enough bread and we had to keep on asking the waiter if there is more bread. The Hot breakfast section was most disappointing as the bacon and sausages were cold when they eventually arrived supposedly 'fresh' from the kitchen. The hygiene around the serving area was also sub standard for such a fancy hotel. I had read good reviews about the breakfast offered as well as some bad reviews. I now know why there were bad reviews as we didn't have a good experience there and are unlikely to return.
