My 17 Old Month Baby Boy Was bitten by Either spider or a very small snake.
We immediately rushed him to Fourways life hospital as this was the nearest place from where he was bitten. His body Reacted severely to the bite and around the area where he got bitten was Swollen and his leg was turning blue, once at the hospital in the emergency room we were told to fill out the forms first and waited for about 10 to 15 mins after which I made a fuss There-after we were told to follow the nurse into a room where the nurse checked his heartbeat, the nurse did not look at the wound or his leg that was blue.
The nurse then told us to wait in the waiting room, we waited for about 30 mins to be told that we need to wait for another or two, by this time My son's leg was blue, swollen and extremely hard, and he fell asleep due to the pain we then showed the nurse at the desk his leg even other patients said that he needs to go through immediately, but the nurse said we need to wait and continued her chat with a colleague I then informed the nurse to cancel the file and went to a different place for treatment.
Appalling and disgusted by the emergency service.
