I was treated like a nobody with rudeness etc after nearly seven years with a high level policy!
My partner I put on recently was discriminated against for a condition she has and her membership was cancelled due to an unintentional non disclosure of a not that time diagnosed condition that perhaps 1 in 3 people have but don't know it.
Discovery failed to make sure that on her acceptance as a member they verified and clearly and understandably stated the conditions again and failed to ask the right questions over the phone.
They had access to all information from the doctor and the illness she disclosed was serious enough for it to be handled with care. But they didn't care about making sure in a correct way so that the client understands the contract. From my side, there was no logical reason not to disclose anything to the medical aid. Her other condition I was not aware of because she was not diagnosed with anything at the time.
There was no gain to hide information at all, only risk losing membership.
Either way, if disclosed or not, Discovery has or would occur no loss and they terminated because of the disclosed illness. My advise: avoid Discovery at all cost
