I have been with Discovery Health for year now. I went to see a general surgeon after developing a hernia in my stomach. After doing a sonar the doctor confirmed the hernia but advised me that that wasn't the only problem. My stomach muscles tore and moved with cause divarication of the stomach wall. He then explained that he can't fix the hernia without me having reconstruction of my stomach wall and showed me to a plastic surgeon. My medical aid is now refusing to pay for my medical procedure. Telling me it is cosmetic and general scheme exclusion. At first they gave me authorization for hernia repair but had to "review" the reconstruction of the hernia repair. My doctor wrote motivation reports, I send threw sonar scans, photos and my doctor even had discussions with discovery's medical doctors. Still they are refusing to pay and now declining BOTH procedures. They now came to a point where they said they will pay for hernia repair IF my doctors sign a letter saying he will do ONLY that and i am not even allowed to pay for the stomach divarication myself.
