I am very dissapointed in Discovery Health. I had bilateral hip replacements on the 22nd of July. I had alot of expenses I had to pay myself because I only have a hospital plan. My Doctor adfvised that I can claim these back because my condtion is deemed a PMB (Prescribed Minimum Benefit). My doctor wrote a reference letter regarding this. I sent the letter along with 3 claims I already paid to discovery. No one came back to me, I had to call them, the first time they said they never got it, the second time the fax number they gave was incorrect, finally I scanned and emailed. After a week no reply, I phoned and was told I had to apply to claim for a PMB. Not once did anyone tell me I had to apply. Why should I apply if there is a letter from my doctor confirming this. I really am dissapointed, by law they have to reimburse me but they look for ways not to pay. Can someone please let me know why I need to fill in a form to confirm I have a PMB if my doctor already confirmed this? My reference number for the claims was 2966867405. Please can someone sort this out. Thanks Brigitte
