Supposed physician Bilaal Abdool Gafoor breached the doctor patient confidentiality agreement when it was discovered that he divulged personal information about the patient he was treating to a third party. The third party informed the HPCSA about this and an investigation into Gafoor's bad conduct is pending. How can a supposed "specialist physician" be so careless and divulge personal information to a person unknown to the patient? When the third party informed the hospital of what had happened they assured him it will be "taken care of". There was no follow up and this is when the third party decided to lay a complaint with the HPCSA since Shifa Hospital did nothing to ensure quality health care and conveniently misplaced complaint forms.
