Nearly 2 months later and Lancet still can't tell me what time they did the blood tests. Their nurses roam around the hospital taking blood without verifying the patient's name, the doctor's name or consulting the sister in charge of ICU. Lancet take a verbal request from an "unknown" doctor, take blood from an "unknown" patient and hopefully send the results to the same "unknown" doctor with the patient's name.
Dear Dr, we attach our report on one of the patients in this hospital. We think it may be one of your patients and hope you remember requesting the blood test because we don't know the patient's name or what time we did the test.
The pathologists may be good but patients and doctors can' trust a report from Lancet.
Lancet can't even tell me what time the tests were done. I look at the bill and find it hard to believe that anyone can survive having that much blood drawn in 12 hours..
