I am appalled at the terrible service I received at the Protea Hotel Edward in Durban. I am a gold prokard member and have stayed in many Protea hotels before. And have received amazing service. Bt not Protea Hotel Edward.
I checked in at 16h00. Waited for 25 minutes before anyone attended to me.
When I finally got to my room, my bathroom was not clean and there was a half filled bottle of water in the bathroom. I had an important meeting and hardly managed to get some sleep.
When I was trying to settle in, I had two maid service people come into my room without knocking. They proceeded to ask me to move from the bed while they changed the linen. They did not even explain what was going on. As they were changing the linen they were constantly giggling while I was on the phone trying to do business.
Later in the evening, I requested for a corkscrew which too forever to get to me. I had to call 5 times and ended up speaking to the manager before I got anything done.
The room was terrible with the pipes making loud noises everytime any of my neighbors turned on the tap or flush the loo.
I will never stay there again and would warn anyone before they go through with their booking
