I have been trying to find a specialist orthopedic surgeon who does knee reconstruction. Through use of their online search engine, which is completely unhelpful as i had to further research whether the doctor did knees, spines or elbows, i found a doctor that specializes in knees and went for a consultation. the doctor then requested a MRI and said he would then do the surgery, I had consulted a doctor outside the fedhealth scheme prior to this meeting and had a good idea of the problem and solution. i was scepticle of the MRI request and found out the doctor does knee replacements not reconstructions, bullet dodged thankfully. I have today been to another doctor/professor who also is a specialist in knee replacement but has trained many reconstruction specialists, he was very helpful and supplied his own list of recommended doctors. I have been trying to cross reference these names but fedhealth members 'locator' is faulty and does not give a full list. I am still yet to find a doctor who does reconstructions on the fedhealth scheme. i dont think they even know what their specialists do.
