When i called to get authorisation from my med aid scheme just prior to my operation, they told me that there would be a co-payment of 3k, i agreed to pay the co-payment, as i wanted the procedure done at the Pietermaritzburg medi-clinic.
on arrival at the hospital on the date of my operation, even the people at reception told me about the 3k co-payment, which i paid immediately.
after my ordeal and a major hysterectomy i went home to recover, and a week or so later the medi-clinic called me and told me that the co-payment was actually 6k and that i still owed 3k, i explained that that was impossible and that they needed to check the recorded conversation, besides which, how would the medi-clinic have admitted me without paying the required FULL payment!!!
when i contacted resomed i spoke to a team leader who basically told me that i was mistaken and that i was not told that... i told her to check the recorded conversation as i was definately not mistaken.
she then said that her superior would be in touch with me after hearing the recorede conversation - this was about 3 weeks ago, and i am still receiving calls from the medi-clinic demanding that i pay the outstanding 3
