My wife went to Medi-Clinic Sandton to have bloods taken. As she was leaving she discovered that she had forgotten her purse. With the guard they searched her car for small change, to no avail. The guard then told her that without the R6 fee she could not leave, even though she was only 5 minutes over. I had to drive from home to pay her parking for her.
Thank goodness she had someone she could call on! Imagine if she hadn't? How long would Medi-Clinic detain someone for not having money on them? Would they add to the bill the time detained? Does this alleged hospital have any awareness of what is important in the intersection between patients and money? It doesn't seem like it!
Well done Medi-Clinic. I hope the R6 was worth the two lost customers and the bad publicity! Don't spend it all at once.
