REFUSAL OF SURGICAL PROCEDURE

My husband was hospitalized at Wilgers Life Hospital on 01/05/2013.The medical aid was contacted & the admission was authorized. On 02/05/2013, a MRI scan was performed that showed a lesion within the left cerebellar hemisphere. An emergency post fossa craniotomy was performed, he was taken to the ICU unit. A tracheotomy and PEG tube was then inserted. His condition deteriorated due to a bleeding & fluid in the area where the craniotomy was performed which causes pressure to the level of consciousness. After about a month in ICU, the medical aid has cancelled the membership of which I'm still trying to clarify. My husband urgently needs a second operation to relief the bleeding, pressure & to remove the rest of the lesion that remained after the first operation causing impairment to his bodily function which place his life in jeopardy. As interim, I went to the hospital to discuss the account & told them that someone is prepared to donate the money for the 2nd operation. The hospital refuse any further surgical procedure, as the hospital account has already accrued to such a high amount. The hospital violates his rights to good health as per the Constitution, Act 108/1996 & Med Schm Act 131/1998
