On the 20th of December 2012 i was referred to Dr Lebos in Linkksfield hospital for an emergency operation. Discovery Medical Aid authorised the procedure. I stayed in hospital for a minimum of two weeks under Dr Lebo's care. After being discharged, four months later as to date, the Medical Aid refuses to pay his bill saying he is not registered as one of ther Doctors irrespective of whether he saved my life or not. I must now pay the bills. My husband pays a maximum of R4000 montlhy to the medical aid, and here they are refusing to pay for my urgent operation. This past four months, i have been sent from pillar to post, the Doctor has written two motivations which explains why i needed the emergency operation, to-date they still dont want to pay him. Me and my husband face being blacklisted by the Doctor. I mean how was i supposed to know that the Dr is not registered under discovery? He saved my life, i could have died. I was in theatre for 4 hours while he did a reconstruction surgery on me. Apart from healing from the operation, i must now face the stress of unpaid medical bills. I feel so dissappoitned by them . i have always thought they are the best in the country, but now?
